Honesty and Integrity
Honesty is the Soul of Reality
|
The Church of Reality by definition is a religion that is based on honesty and truth. We of course have to earn that definition by our deeds but it logically has to be intrinsic to our doctrine. After all, if the name of your religion is the Church of Reality then the name doesn't mean anything without honesty. After all, Reality is by definition the sum of everything that is true. If we start trying to pass off Bullshit as truth then our religion has no meaning. Just because this church has the name Reality on its virtual door doesn't make us real or honest. Integrity has to be more than a slogan. We are obligated to live it for real. We are a church that has to earn its name and if we don't earn it then we don't deserve to keep it.
If the Church of Reality doesn't commit to real reality then our religion has no meaning. We have to earn our name.
The Church of Reality is not an institution as much as it is a dream. If we as an institution stay true to the dream then we really are the Church of Reality. If we stray from the dream and become dishonest and corrupt, then we become the Church of Bullshit and the real Church of Reality will be a church in the minds of those people who stay true to reality and maintain the honesty and integrity that is required to be worthy of the Reality name.
The Church of Reality is different from other religions because it has made Reality its holy responsibility. The word Reality is its Sacred message. "What is Real?" is our Sacred Question. Our first mission is to grow the Tree of Knowledge. Honesty, integrity, truth, responsibility, accountability, scrutiny, these are our core principles. Our name is our message and it is our core belief. Our dharma is our commitment to the truth.
By taking the name Church of Reality we are making a commitment to humanity that we are going to honor the name as a sacred trust.
In taking the name Church of Reality our religion is making a covenant of trust with humanity to live up to that name. The concept of reality is core to the evolutionary advancement of the human race. To abuse this name is a sin against humanity. When a person becomes a Realist they are making a personal commitment to intellectual honesty and personal integrity. This is not a commitment to be taken lightly. We hold a sacred trust by claiming this name and it is our duty to the human race to be trustworthy so that the name has true meaning.

Integrity is the foundation of the Church of Reality. We are a religion that is built on the rock of truth. As long as we stay true then our religion will be able to stand the test of time and evolve forward. Truth is the rock that makes our religion solid. Other religions are based on fiction. Someone made up a story and people to this day still believe the story. But the fiction isn't based on something that is real so the foundations of other religions move around. Who is to say that one version of fiction is better than another version of fiction? Reality on the other hand isn't going away. No matter what humanity does, reality will still be there. The Earth will still continue to orbit around the Sun for another 4 billion years.
What is amazing about creating doctrine for the Church of Reality is the way it all fits together as it evolves forward. A new idea is discovered and it fits in well with existing doctrine. We add this section on Honesty and nothing that is already here contradicts it. If any rewriting has to be done it's to enhance other principles to make them deeper and more meaningful. Perhaps the fact that everything fits together so well is an indicator that we are on the right track.

Dishonesty can spread like a cancer through a religion or culture. We live in a world where we are constantly surrounded by lies, deceit, and deception. It's almost mind numbing to think about. We are surrounded by people who are living the lie. People who are so divorced from reality that they don't know and don't even care what reality is. We live in a society of constant scams where people are promised an afterlife in exchange for slavery to a church in this life. So many lives dedicated to the meaningless pursuit of fictional deities serving the selfish interests of institutions that are little more than parasites sucking the life out of the human race and putting us on the Path of Destitution and Destruction.
