Honesty and the Sacred Principles |
Honesty is the foundation of the Sacred Principles. The Principle of Positive Evolution depends on honesty. We can't evolve in the Sacred Direction if we deceive ourselves. The Principle of Exploration assumes an honest quest for knowledge. The Principle of Freedom allows us to be honest without fear. The Principle of Scrutiny and Doubt tests us to ensure that we actually are being honest. The Principle of Humility is to keep us from allowing ego and self importance to cloud our integrity. The Principle of Wisdom demands that we think things through so that we don't lose our focus as to why our church exists. The Principle of Personal Responsibility helps us to individually remain honest and adds to the integrity of the Church. The Principle of Bullshit reminds us that a lie is a lie no matter how many people believe it and that we cannot change reality by living a lie. The Principle of Activism and Maintenance commands us to fight for the truth and to fix our mistakes. The Principle of Personal Privacy helps to ensure our freedom from oppression. Our Principle of Historical Preservation helps to ensure that we learn from our mistakes. We look at the past with honesty so that we can face the future with honesty. And of course the Principle of Honesty and Integrity sends a message that you can not pursue reality unless you pursue it honestly.
It isn't a coincidence that so many of the Sacred Principles are related to honesty because we are the Church of Reality and that's what we do. If something is real that means that it is truly and honestly real. So if we stay true to our purpose, we will remain honest. And if we lose our honesty, then we lose our reality.
