Not Endorsing Marijuana Use |
Although this church was a Marijuana inspired idea, this church neither encourages the use of Marijuana nor discourages it. The use of Marijuana is not part of any Church of Reality functions or rituals.
The Church of Reality in general discourages drug use. But specifically we encourage people to be smart about drug use. There are advantages and disadvantages associated with each drug and different drugs affect different people in different ways. There are people who can drink constantly and still be what appears to be totally normal. I am not one of them. I can drink a glass of wine and I'm fine. If I drink more than 2, I'm regretting it. Just because smoking pot works for me doesn't mean that it's going to work for you and I smoke very little pot and only occasionally. Any substance done to excess is a bad idea.
Like anything, you have to use good judgment when it comes to using drugs. If something isn't working for you and the downside is interfering with your life or health, don't do it. And never do any drugs just because your friends are doing it and you want to fit in. Always research the substances that you are considering so that you understand what you are doing. And especially stay away from anything that is addictive. You don't even want to be dependent on something as harmless as coffee.
