Reality Related Terminology |
Many common words are reality related and depends on reality for meaning. For example, the word Truth means that something is true in respect to reality. That it is really true as opposed to a personal belief where a person chooses to believe that something is true or that something might seem to be true from an individual perspective. In terms of absolutes the very definition of True and False is in the context of if it is true or false in reality.
Similarly the word Existence means does something exist in reality. The question "Does God Exist?" for example is really asking if God is real. It is asking, "Does God exist in the context of reality?" If one asks, "Is Zeus real?" they are not asking if you believe that Zeus is real. They are asking if Zeus exists irrespective of personal belief or observation.
Words like Existence and Truth are reality related words because they have no stand outside the context of reality. God, for example, can not be real unless there is a reality for him to exist within. To envoke these words is to measure something in the context of it's status in reality.
